Azerbaijani Businessman Suspected of Murders Receives Asylum in Montenegro

Azerbaijani businessman Telman Ismailov has received asylum in Montenegro. This information has been reported by Russian media, citing his lawyer.

Ismailov was arrested in Montenegro at Russia's request and is accused of involvement in murders and kidnappings. According to certain reports, the former owner of the Cherkizovsky Market, who was placed on the international wanted list, may be linked to an assassination attempt against the famous pop performer Abraham Russo.

A request for Ismailov's extradition to the Russian Federation for criminal prosecution was sent on October 7 via diplomatic channels to the Ministry of Justice, Human and Minority Rights of Montenegro.
