Arsen Julfalakyan Elected President of UWW Athletes' Commission
Arsen Julfalakyan, a Greco-Roman wrestler and Olympic silver medalist, has been elected as the President of the International Wrestling Federation's (UWW) Athletes' Commission. This was announced on the official website of the international federation.
Julfalakyan expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him, saying, “I want to thank my colleagues in the Athletes' Commission for their trust and support during the elections. It is a great honor for me to become the president of the commission.”
The renowned wrestler has been a member of the Athletes' Commission since 2017, but he will now serve as an elected member of the UWW Bureau. In addition to being the athletes' representative in the Bureau, he will also represent wrestlers at the Olympic Athletes' Forum, WADA, and other organizations.
“I assure you that I will use all my knowledge, experience, and energy to elevate the commission to an even higher level. Of course, this will only be possible through close cooperation with the commission's members and UWW,” Julfalakyan noted.
As the President of the Athletes' Commission, Arsen Julfalakyan will work for the first time at the end of this month during the UWW Bureau and Congress meeting taking place in Serbia.
