22-Year-Old Attempts to Smuggle Drugs into Hrazdan Penitentiary

The Hrazdan Police Department received operational information indicating that a 22-year-old resident of Charentsavan was planning to deliver drugs to certain inmates at the Hrazdan penitentiary on October 18.

Criminal investigators, in collaboration with officials from the Ministry of Justice, apprehended the suspect at the rear area of the penitentiary while he was attempting to throw drugs over the wall, and he was taken into custody.

An inspection of the scene revealed 33 packages of narcotics, totaling over 600 grams of a greenish substance believed to be cannabis, along with gray, white, and blue powder-like substances, and a yellow liquid in a smoking device.

A forensic examination has been initiated, and a criminal case has been opened by the Kotayk regional investigative department. The 22-year-old has been arrested, and the investigation is ongoing to clarify the circumstances of the case.
