What dark issue are you trying to solve in two years, when we will all lose our identity documents? Hayk Manasyan

Doctor Hayk Manasyan wrote on his Facebook page: “Of course, dear Prime Minister, you can refrain from saying why suddenly, you decided to reduce the validity of our citizens’ passports from 10 years to 2 years. But knowing you as a world-renowned manipulator, I can't help but recall that you recently also suspended the issuance of passports altogether, explaining this by the malfunction of the passport printing machine, I believe. Moreover, I cannot forget that there were conversations about how many Azerbaijanis were given Armenian passports through some mysterious method. Whether it was gossip or reality, I don’t know.

Not forgetting, of course, that everything is blamed on the former authorities, because the current ones are essentially incompetent, I want to understand what dark problem you want to solve in 2 years when we will all lose our identification documents in one day. Could it be that there will be a regime change without elections, since there is no passport, there is no election? Taking into account your and your incompetent parliamentary colleagues' previous experience of turning the Prime Minister's election into a farce and manipulating the constitution, one can expect anything.

It can also be insidiously suggested that the passports that fell into the hands of Azerbaijanis are not at all related to espionage, but rather you have secretly implemented an operation called “Return of Refugees,” honoring Aliyev with as many passports as there were Azerbaijanis in Soviet Armenia, and now you scare the same Aliyev by giving him 2 years to either agree to go to final peace under some conditions, or in 2 years the passports of Armenian Azerbaijani citizens registered in Barkhudarlu, Shidluy, or say, Khalisa will become invalid.

Do you know why I specifically mention Azerbaijani place names? Because you have recently decided that everyone can now write the name of their birthplace on their passport instead of the Republic of Armenia. That is, from now on, instead of writing Armenia, a person can write, for example, Kyarki, Davalu, Barkhudarlu... Huh? Did I correctly notice the operation of the “Return of Refugees” in all its “charm”?

Why are you suddenly reducing the validity of passports from 10 years to 2? There is no justification in the draft law. More precisely, there is, but the justification is some secret decision from September 29. And we learned a very harsh lesson as a nation last September that all secret decisions in our country concern our well-being... and everyone knows about them, all countries and peoples except for us. Huh? And whatever happens in two years, how should we feel? Huh... At least get up and give a speech like last September and say, whatever happens in 2 years, how should we feel… 2 years is too much. Make the validity of an Armenian citizen’s passport 6 minutes. Just 6 minutes. That’s exactly how long it takes for the cortex tissue of the brain deprived of oxygen to die. After that, the body can be revived, but civic consciousness – never.”
