Video: Shelling Sets Fire to Resident's 3-4 Thousand Haystack in Eraskh; Gunfire Targeted at Houses, Ombudsman
The Ombudsman, Arman Tatoyan, wrote on his Facebook page: 'About an hour ago, around 11 PM on October 16, the Azerbaijani armed forces targeted the Eraskh community in the Ararat region of Armenia. The gunfire was directed specifically at civilian homes.
As a result of the shelling, a resident's haystack of 3-4 thousand pieces caught fire. Thanks to the timely arrival of firefighters, the fire was contained to prevent it from spreading towards the homes.
These are acts of criminal terrorism. Such reckless actions are a direct result of the hostile and fascistic policies of the Azerbaijani authorities. It is evident that Azerbaijani servicemen are causing harm to farmers, destroying their property, violating their rights to life and ownership, and disrupting peaceful living and security.
This incident again underscores the need to establish a demilitarized security zone as demanded by the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly's resolution 2391 (2021) from September 27, 2021.'
