A New Gun Developed in Russia to Combat Drones
In Russia, the LPD-801 radio-electronic gun has been unveiled. The device, designed for disrupting the control channels of drones, was showcased at the ORELEXPO-2021 international exhibition for weapons and hunting products, according to TASS.
The LPD-801 gun weighs 3.5 kilograms, comparable to an AK-47 assault rifle. Its structure also resembles traditional weaponry. Specifically, the device's antenna is designed in the form of a gun barrel, while a replaceable battery is located in the magazine slot.
The specifications of the LPD-801 allow it to counter drones at distances of up to 1.5 kilometers. The device is intended for disrupting control channels and navigation of unmanned aerial vehicles.
According to the manufacturer, the United Arab Emirates has already purchased a batch of the LPD-801.
