The Design of Passports and IDs Will Change: A Competition Announced

The Police of the Republic of Armenia has announced a competition aimed at selecting a new design for identification documents. This information has been provided by the Public Relations and Information Department of the Police of Armenia.

The competition starts on October 15, 2021, lasting for one month. Both individuals and legal entities can participate in the competition, and application forms must be submitted to the Passport and Visa Department of the Police (address: Yerevan, Davtashen District 4, building 17/10).

Participants are required to submit their design proposals in a sealed envelope in the form of sketches. The sketches must be presented in color on an electronic medium (vector format), as well as on paper (the size is chosen by the participant). The participant must also create a 5-character pseudonym (a combination of numbers and/or letters) to be affixed on all sketches. A brief explanation must accompany the work, detailing the significance of the images and ornaments used in the sketches, as well as the main requirements for the design of identification documents.

The application packet must also include a sheet with the author’s personal details (name, surname, patronymic, address, phone number) and a copy of the identification document.

The competition is conducted by a commission established by the order of the Chief of Police of the Republic of Armenia, following the procedures set forth in that order. The competition fund amounts to three million eighty thousand Armenian Drams (3,080,000 AMD). The fund will be distributed proportionally among the authors of the works declared winners, based on the completeness or partial selection of the works.
