Firefighters on Site in Yeraskh, No Gunfire Reported: Radik Ohikyan

In the village of Yeraskh in the Ararat region, there are currently no gunshots being fired; however, one resident's haystack is on fire. This information was shared with Sputnik Armenia by the village mayor Radik Ohikyan.

“There are no gunshots at this moment, only a resident's haystack has burned. Firefighters are currently extinguishing it. I do not know if it was caused by gunfire, experts will determine,” stated Ohikyan.

When asked about the video circulating on the internet regarding a burning structure in Yeraskh, the mayor responded negatively. “I do not comment on such videos; I only speak to what I have seen with my own eyes,” said Ohikyan.

It is worth mentioning that information and footage circulating online suggest that Azerbaijani armed forces opened fire towards the village of Yeraskh in the Ararat region, resulting in a fire breaking out in one of the yards.

Recall that a soldier of the Armenian armed forces was injured by Azerbaijani gunfire on October 9 and has since undergone surgery. The border situation has changed not only in Artsakh but also in some regions of Armenia such as Gegharkunik, Vayots Dzor, and Syunik following the trilateral statement of November 9.

Armenian-installed cameras have recorded an Azerbaijani soldier firing. Footage shows that since May 12, Azerbaijani military personnel have invaded the sovereign territory of Armenia in the region of Lake Sevan in Syunik and in the border areas of the villages of Kut, Norabak, and Verin Shorja in Gegharkunik, attempting to establish a stronger foothold there. Periodic gunfire is reported in the Yeraskh area.
