Azerbaijan Will Receive Rail and Road Links with Nakhchivan as a Result of the Unblocking of Communication, Says Pashinyan
Despite all political efforts and the contrary tripartite statement, people continue to die in Artsakh and along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. This was stated today by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during his speech at the online meeting of the Council of Heads of CIS Countries.
"In this regard, I propose to strengthen the trilateral mechanisms for investigating incidents and monitoring the cessation of hostilities and all military operations. The rhetoric of war, constant threats, and provocations have become everyday life for us. Many not only do not believe but also do not want peace to be established in our region," said Pashinyan.
In the context of restoring peace in the region, Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the implementation of all points of the tripartite statement, particularly the opening of regional communications. "This means that Armenia will receive rail and road links with Russia and a railway connection with Iran through Azerbaijani territory. And Azerbaijan will receive rail and road links with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic through the territory of Armenia," Pashinyan added, mentioning that these projects could become a symbol of the restoration of peace.
