Were there no good things during Serzh Sargsyan's time? If needed, I can list them for hours – Hovik Akhazaryan

The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports that by the order of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, acting mayors have been appointed in several communities of Armenia. Vahagn Arsenyan will perform the duties of the leader of the city of Jermuk. He is the son of former Republican Party MP Ashot Arsenyan.

"How is it that Nikol Pashinyan rejected the Republican Party three years ago, yet today entrusts an entire community to a Republican's son?" Zhoghovurd asked Hovik Akhazaryan, a member of the National Assembly's Civil Contract faction. The MP noted that there is nothing extraordinary about the appointment. According to him, nothing is set in stone, and one shouldn't draw a line over the past. "If a person has been a member of the Republican Party, it doesn’t mean he should never return to public-political life. I neither recognize Arsenyan nor his son, but if a person has enough managerial experience and skills, then their party affiliation is not a matter for discussion. Were there no good things during Serzh Sargsyan's time? If needed, I can list them for hours," the MP emphasized.

It is noteworthy that according to the Investigative Committee's information from 2019, Vahagn Arsenyan was involved in a criminal case for evading military service. The case was initiated based on Article 327, Part 2, Subpart 2 of the Criminal Code concerning the forgery of documents or other fraudulent means to evade military service. It is significant that the criminal case was initiated after the political reshuffles of 2018 during Pashinyan's rule, and now, in fact, this same Pashinyan’s government is appointing a person who evaded military service as the head of a community.
