Saakashvili Transferred to Solitary Confinement: Details
The former President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, has been transferred to solitary confinement in the Rustavi prison at his own request. This was reported by the Special Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia.
It is noted that the political figure refused to remain in a cell with other inmates, and the prison authorities took his request into account.
The agency also denied reports that the political leader's allies are being prevented from visiting him. As for Saakashvili's personal doctor, who has visited the former president multiple times, the doctor must submit the necessary documentation justifying the reason for meeting with the patient.
According to Sputnik Georgia, the Ministry of Justice has requested the Ministry of Health to create a multi-functional group of doctors. The group is tasked with monitoring Saakashvili's health condition, as he declared a hunger strike 12 days ago.
