Real Terror: Groups of Three to Four Police Officers Enter Offices and Impose Fines

The 'Iravunk' newspaper reports: 'Malicious tongues claim that the authorities have entered a state of real terror: Since Friday morning, employees of supervisory bodies, accompanied by three to four police officers, have been entering offices and using the slightest pretext to impose fines on people.

Specifically, a citizen who contacted us states that they demand that a person sitting alone in their office wear a mask; otherwise, a fine of 30,000 to 40,000 dram is imposed. Citizens who have alerted our editorial staff note that the mere presence of police has already caused unnecessary panic.

It seems that the government is not implementing preventive measures but rather has a specific aim to fill the budget at any cost. We tried to inquire at the Police Department of Information about the powers under which police officers accompany officials of the supervisory bodies to offices. However, the police directed us to the supervisory bodies, saying they would respond. We will attempt to obtain that explanation.'
