The Show Continues: Lawyer of Serzh Sargsyan
The representative of the third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, lawyer Amram Makinyan wrote on his Facebook page: "Referring to the issue of initiating a criminal case by the Special Investigative Service regarding the foreign flights of the aircraft serving the third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, I find it necessary to first emphasize that it was personally predictable for me to initiate a new criminal case related to the third President of Armenia by the same service which is examining the collapse of the previously investigated criminal case (the diesel case) at the court stage; undoubtedly, it is necessary to justify the expectations of the client... Regarding the emptiness of this new case, I will mention at this moment only that all Presidents of Armenia, including the resigned ones, have been provided with a number of social guarantees under the law, which, amid security assurances, makes it at least questionable to consider exercising the legally established guarantees as an abuse of official powers.
Considering the initial stage of this investigation, I currently refrain from providing more detailed comments, but I assure that it will not be possible to divert the attention of the public from the urgent issues demanding immediate solutions concerning security, defense, healthcare, and other matters of our state through the initiation of any fabricated criminal case. Resorting to any means to provide a spectacle is a practice that has already exhausted itself."
