Citizen Confused the Street with Facebook, Thinking He Could Stand and Insult Me: Marukyan Discusses Today's Incident

Former MP Edmon Marukyan wrote on his Facebook page: "Dear friends, honorable compatriots, thank you for all your calls, messages, and genuine concern. I am fine. I will briefly talk about the incident that occurred this morning in the yard of the LHK office. While parking my car, a citizen approached me. Seeing that he had something to say, I rolled down the window and essentially recorded that the citizen, sticking his head into the car window, had mixed up the street with Facebook, thinking that he could stand and utter insults towards political figures while meeting me on the street.

Of course, his words did not go unanswered. For a moment, he threatened to hit me, but he failed to do so as I parked the car and quickly grabbed his hands, calmed him down, and had an explanatory conversation with him, which resulted in him going on his way. I hope that one day this atmosphere of hatred will no longer have a place in our society, and we will live in a truly harmonious, peaceful, and mutually respectful environment.

In any case, if people expect us to drive around in armored vehicles with bodyguards to protect ourselves from various provocations and attacks, then let me say that this is not who we are. We will not tolerate similar behavior or repeat insults directed at us without responding. Everyone should understand the value of their words and not attempt to violate another person's dignity. One must be ready to answer for every word. By the way, part of the incident—from the moment I got out of the car—was 'coincidentally' filmed by anti-face journalists in the office yard.
