Spiritual Leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan to Meet in Moscow
The meeting between Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, and Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh, the spiritual leader of all Muslims in the Caucasus and Azerbaijan, will take place on October 12-13 in Moscow. This was reported by RIA Novosti, citing the Armenian Apostolic Church’s diocese of Russia and New Nakhichevan.
Earlier, the Russian spiritual leader stated that the meeting between the spiritual leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan has contributed to reducing tensions between the two countries. The Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate has announced that the spiritual leaders will meet on October 13 at the patriarchal and synodal residence in Danilov Monastery.
