Iran Does Not Joke: Iranian Minister on Relations with Azerbaijan
The spokesperson of Iran's Foreign Ministry, Saeed Khatibzadeh, addressed relations with neighboring countries during a press briefing, emphasizing cooperation with Azerbaijan.
“Iran does not joke about its security issues. It is unnatural for the relations between Azerbaijan and Iran to be severed due to a third country. Iran has expressed its concerns to the Azerbaijani side, and they have said they will discuss these concerns,” Khatibzadeh stated, according to Mehr Agency.
He also added that the presence of Israel in neighboring countries is unacceptable for Iran. “We have never closed our airspace to Azerbaijan. The land route is also open between the two countries, and both sides should not allow the influence of third countries on their relations,” the Foreign Ministry spokesperson said.
