Misha: I Address You as a Doctor and a Father - Saakashvili's Father Appeals to His Son

Nicoloz Saakashvili, the father of Georgia's third president Mikheil Saakashvili, has urged his son to end his hunger strike. Nicoloz made his appeal through social media, stating that he had no other means to reach him.

“Misha. I address you as a doctor and a father. The hunger strike will not lead to anything good; it will harm your health. You are alongside your country, and it is important that you stay with your people until the end... The hunger strike has served its purpose. Now the people need your energy,” he wrote.

Previously, similar calls had been made by Ilia II, the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, as well as by Shalva Papuashvili, a leader of the ruling party, Georgian Dream.

The former president is currently being held in Rustavi Prison No. 12, having been arrested on October 1 after illegally entering Georgia.
