Armenian U-21 Football Team Suffer Heavy Defeat to Serbia
The Armenian U-21 football team faced a heavy defeat against Serbia in the fourth round of the qualifying phase for the 2023 European Championship held in Yerevan. The match ended with a score of 4-1.
Armenia's players were the first to open the scoring. In the 36th minute, Mikael Mirzoyan found the net for the Serbian goal. However, in the second half, Serbian players scored four times against the goal defended by Rafael Nazaryan's squad.
In the 33rd minute, Ghirair Shaghoyan made a long-range shot that found the Serbian net, but the referee disallowed the goal. Just three minutes later, Mirzoyan scored again with a pass from Shaghoyan, bringing the score to 1-0.
The Armenian U-21 team is currently in second-to-last place in the group, with only 3 points to their name.
