Saakashvili Planned to Assassinate Several Opposition Figures, Says Garibashvili
The former president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, and his supporters were planning to assassinate several opposition figures in Tbilisi to delegitimize the Georgian government, according to statements made by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, as reported by Imedi.
Garibashvili indicated that had the special services not arrested Saakashvili, an opposition rally would have taken place on October 3, featuring the former president. He suggested that disturbances would have ensued when law enforcement officials brought him in, potentially linked to the assassination of several opposition figures and an attempt to delegitimize the government.
