Official Baku on Signals Coming from Armenia
Yerevan is sending positive signals regarding the resolution of border delimitation issues, and Baku hopes for constructive developments in the process. This was stated by Leyla Abdullayeva, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, as reported by RIA Novosti.
“Overall, Azerbaijan supports the establishment of relations with all countries based on the principle of respecting each other’s international borders, which is our country’s unwavering position. It is known that we have specifically stated our readiness to resolve relations with Armenia based on the principles of international law and to start negotiations on delimitation. The delimitation process is a bilateral issue, and the positive signals received from the other side recently inspire hope for constructive development of this process,” Abdullayeva said to reporters.
It should be noted that Alexei Zaitsev, deputy director of the information department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, had previously stated during a briefing that the Russian side has submitted proposals for addressing the problems existing in the Armenian-Azerbaijani border areas for the consideration of Yerevan and Baku.
