Iranian Journalist Stresses Solution May Lie in Placement of Iranian Military Base in Syunik: Vardan Voskanyan

Iranian expert Vardan Voskanyan's remark states: “Prominent Iranian journalist and social media opinion leader Peyman Aref considered the recent military exercises of Iranian forces as a response to the threat of a Turkish-Azerbaijani armed assault on Armenia's Syunik province in a tweet.

He also noted that Iran cannot keep its military units indefinitely in a state of exercise, thus a solution could be the signing of a military and security agreement between Yerevan and Tehran, and the establishment of an Iranian military base in the Syunik province. It is noteworthy that this issue has recently been actively and frequently discussed within Iranian discourse.”
