Extraordinary Incident in Kotayk Province: Unknown Individuals Tied Cemetery Guard in Semi-Nude State and Burned His Car
On October 2, a serious incident occurred in Kotayk Province. Around 23:10, the 911 crisis management center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations received a report about a fire breaking out in the cemetery area located on the 4th street of the village of Zovuni.
According to Shamshyan.com, the Fire and Rescue Service’s number 13 firefighting unit arrived promptly with one combat crew. Firefighters noticed a burning vehicle in the cemetery area and began firefighting operations. About 30-40 meters away from the burning vehicle, rescuers discovered a citizen tied up in a semi-nude state.
The firefighters removed their clothes to cover the citizen and untied him. They then assisted in transporting him to the Armenia Medical Center using an ambulance that had arrived promptly.
Police have determined that the victim is 48-year-old Koryun Asatryan, a resident of the village of Zovuni, who works as a guard at the cemetery in question. According to preliminary information, one hypothesis suggests that a grave robber or robbers attacked him, tied him up, and subsequently burned his VAZ 2101 vehicle without license plates.
