Aliyev Family at the Center of New Scandal: New Revelations

The Crown Estate in the United Kingdom, an organization officially authorized to manage royal property on behalf of the monarch, has launched an investigation into a London property valued at £67 million that has reportedly been purchased by a billionaire family closely connected to the Azerbaijani government, which is frequently accused of corruption. This is reported by The Guardian.

The details of the purchase are outlined in the "Pandora Papers" released by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists, revealing how offshore companies linked to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev sold properties worth around £400 million in Britain over the past 15 years. It has been noted that the property acquisition includes one building that was purchased in 2009 for £33.5 million by an offshore company, whose beneficiary is Heydar, the son of President Ilham Aliyev, who was just 11 years old at the time.
