Syunik Governor Appoints His Sister's Son as Acting Mayor of Tegh

In his place, the Syunik governor has appointed his own sister’s son, businessman David Ghulunts, as the acting mayor of Tegh. The acting mayor has also decided to run for election.

Incidentally, this is the same sister's son whose name is associated with various activities that took place in Berdzor. The village mayor of Aghavnadzor has repeatedly spoken about these actions, ranging from house looting to the disappearance of 4 million cubic meters of sand from the hydroelectric power station. All this is linked to the exploitation of the governor's name.

Whether they’ve become the new Surik Khachatryan, what should this man do? I got acquainted with Syunik Governor Melikset Poghosyan in the spring of 2021 at his home. At that time, he justified himself, saying that others were carrying out malicious actions under his name to tarnish his reputation. Removing the acting village mayor a month before the mayoral elections and placing his sister’s son in the leadership position based on his own application, so that he can use his official position to become mayor, can be seen as an abuse of power, which is punishable by law."
