My Very Good Friend: Taguhi Tovmasyan Speaks About Hayko
Taguhi Tovmasyan, the chairwoman of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Human Rights and Public Affairs, also attended the memorial service for beloved singer Hayko today. In an interview with Armdaily.am, Tovmasyan stated, "He was my very good friend, a very close person, from whom one could learn how to be a friend, how to communicate with people, a person who was eternally tolerant towards any citizen, any human being. We all will feel Hayko's absence greatly, not only for his talented nature, not only for his unique creative skills but also as a human being, because Hayko was indeed a great man. Anyone who knew him will attest that we lost a very good kind, exemplary type of person. Sadly, illness took his life, and today we mourn together, because Hayko is no longer with us; I cannot compare him to anyone else. We will not have a citizen like Hayko again, a father like him, because I saw his love for his son, which was an endless and unimaginable feeling, and I am very saddened for his child; I cannot imagine what he will do without Hayko."
In this situation, Tovmasyan was also concerned about one more thing: "To be honest, it is very shameful, and everyone knew that today was Hayko's memorial service; it was difficult for the city authorities to provide basic lighting. The church courtyard is in darkness; why are we groping in the dark, fearing that we might step on one another and trying to reach our destination safely?"
