We Believed There Would Be a Miracle, But... Friends Remember Hayko
The news of the death of Hayko, the Honored Artist of Armenia, singer, and songwriter, prompted many tributes from friends and colleagues on social media, sharing their sorrow over the loss.
Actress and presenter Nazeni Hovhannisyan wrote: “He struggled, fought, cleaned himself and ascended. I managed to gather myself to write... He fought tirelessly against subpar music, creating melodies and quality that touched us deeply and opened his soul through his song. He left us pure, in front of his conscience and kind. He remained a man of quality, a friend, and a faithful Armenian, immortalized through his sound... We have become poorer, while he simply ascended, on the path of love to the heavens. Hayko dear, my friend, my brother… Why were you in such a hurry? Rest in peace, Hayko dear. You left us with longing...”
“Hayko dear: A bright, kind and talented man. You will never be replaced. May you remain in eternal light,” wrote singer Aram MP3.
Singer Sirusho, who collaborated with Hayko for many years, shared a photo of herself with the artist on her Instagram Story, writing, “I lost a brother, we lost talent.”
Also, the rector of Yerevan State Medical University, Armen Muradyan, expressed his condolences: “We fought and struggled with all possible weapons against the cursed COVID, yet the treacherous disease overcame us... I extend my condolences to his relatives, friends, and us; we lost a talented man,” he emphasized.
“Hayko dear, you promised to arrange a song for my Lilo, and now you fell into eternal works, and I could never concentrate on what to write. The important thing is that those abandoned works are not what matters; what matters are the people. Without you, there is emptiness in all our souls, but your songs fill that emptiness with abundance. Rest in peace, our luminous pride who always brought peace to us,” wrote composer, playwright, and screenwriter Krist Manaryan.
Armen Sargsyan, director of the Armenian State Song Theatre, also made a post: “Live your life as Hayko lived, giving love and kindness to those around you, just as he did. Hayko dear, my good friend... we will meet one day... may your soul shine,” he wrote.
Sybil, a singer from Istanbul, also expressed her sadness and sorrow, writing: “A great, very great loss. Hayko dear, our beloved singer; I have no words to say. I’m so very sorry. You became one of the brightest stars in heaven. Rest in light.”
Nune Yesayan wrote: “We believed there would be a miracle, but... Our good friend, a talented person... May you remain in the lights, our Hayko...”
