Anticipated Surprise: Arman Abovyan on Aliyev's Statement

Former MP from the Prosperous Armenia Party, Arman Abovyan, wrote on his Facebook page: "Anticipated Surprise. And thus... Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced his readiness to meet with the authorities of Armenia, should such a meeting be organized by the co-chairmen of the OSCE Minsk Group. He stated this in an interview with the France-24 television channel. According to him, Baku is ready to resume dialogue between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Interesting arrangements are taking place. I am confident that the countries' co-chairs are exerting pressure on Ilham, and we have previously noted that such a meeting will certainly take place. And not because Ilham 'graciously' agreed, but because it is dangerous for the 'great powers' of the planet to waste time, and Ilham is well aware of this.

I set aside the moral aspect of the issue, as it is difficult to imagine what can actually be discussed with Aliyev after constant mockery, disdain, and aggressive anti-Armenian manifestations. Nevertheless, to ensure that no one harbors illusions, and that we are not again deceived by a false Turkish peace agenda, I will remind you of what Aliyev will bring to the meeting:

1. Recognition of the results of the Turkish-Azerbaijani occupation of the territories of Armenia and Artsakh.
2. Rejection of the idea of Artsakh’s independence and recognition of Azerbaijan’s borders.
3. Provision of a corridor through Syunik for the reunification of Turkey and Azerbaijan.

Thus, now pay close attention... If the meeting takes place, it means only one thing: The Armenian side is ready to DISCUSS the demands of the kerosene sultan.
