Aliyev on Russian Peacekeepers

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has positively assessed the activities of the Russian peacekeeping forces. He made this statement in an interview with Anadolu Agency.

“Of course, there are issues that have demands. First of all, this is related to the illegal visits of foreigners to our lands. We have repeatedly raised this issue, as Nagorno-Karabakh is our territory. No foreigner or vehicle can enter that territory without our permission. However, I can say that this issue is not 100% resolved. At the same time, I must note that the illegal entry into Nagorno-Karabakh by foreign citizens has decreased. I also want to mention that thanks to our policy and persistence, we managed to put an end to this. However, of course, we would like them to fully respect our sovereignty and territorial integrity. Russian officials state that Nagorno-Karabakh is Azerbaijani territory. In this case, those serving there must also conduct their activities in accordance with these statements,” he said.
