Picasso's 9 Works Transferred to French Government to Settle Inheritance Tax
The world-renowned painter Pablo Picasso’s daughter has been compelled to transfer several of her father’s legendary works to the French government to settle a hefty inheritance tax. As reported by Luxury Launches, 86-year-old Maya Ruiz Picasso has handed over to the government six canvases, two sculptures, and several drawings belonging to Picasso.
At a statement made at the Picasso Museum in Paris, the country’s finance minister, Bruno Le Maire, expressed, “It is an honor for our country to receive these works by Picasso. They will enrich and deepen our cultural heritage.”
