Man Who Fired Shots During Police Operation 'Fish Swim, Swim, Leave Outside Hunting' Surrendered
According to Shamshyan.com, today, on September 24, a 50-year-old resident of the Arabkir administrative district of Yerevan, Armen Karapetyan, voluntarily presented himself to the investigative department of the Avan and Nor Nork administrative districts of the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
The media reports that he was wanted under part 4 of article 258 of the RA Criminal Code by the police department of Nor Nork. In the pursuit of him, the Nor Nork police and investigators carried out extensive operational-investigative and joint actions, even identifying possible hiding places, and it is likely that during the operation 'Fish Swim, Swim, Leave Outside Hunting', A. Karapetyan, learning that the Nor Nork police and investigators were on his trail and had no more places to hide, presented himself today.
He also handed over the pistol, which was the instrument of the crime. According to G. Shamshyan, A. Karapetyan was transferred from the investigative department to the penitentiary institution in Armavir under the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia. The operation was led by Artak Asatryan, head of the Nor Nork police department, and Vardan Avagyan, head of the investigative department of Avan and Nor Nork districts.
As previously reported by Shamshyan.com, a wanted notice had been issued by the Nor Nork police department against a 50-year-old individual, A. K., a resident of the Arabkir administrative district of Yerevan. He was suspected of firing shots at an Opel vehicle for failing to yield the right of way on July 19 on David Bek Avenue in Yerevan. A task force, including officers from the criminal investigation and community police departments, was created to locate him upon the directive of Artak Asatryan. The operation was named 'Fish Swim, Swim, Leave Outside Hunting, Go Under the Water Until the Danger Passes'.
