Residents Report Difficulty in Obtaining Passports
According to the "Zhoghavor" newspaper, citizens of Armenia who wish to change or obtain a new passport are facing difficulties. Over the past few days, the newspaper has received phone calls from residents in various regions of Armenia regarding this issue. They report that when they approach the Passport and Visa Department's local offices with the expectation of changing their passport or obtaining a new one, they are met with a negative response.
One resident who called yesterday shared their experience after visiting the Ejmiatsin office of the Passport and Visa Department. They were informed that the paper designated for printing passports is currently unavailable, and they must wait. Additionally, they were told that the office had been non-working for the past few days, and there was no update on when passports would be issued. The passport office advised them to contact the Passport and Visa Department at the “Ovir.”
Similar issues have arisen at the Malatya passport office, leaving citizens once again facing setbacks. The "Zhoghavor" newspaper also reached out to the Armenian police regarding this matter, where officials mentioned that there is no longer such a problem, stating it was an issue from a few days ago, and now citizens can apply and receive their passports. However, residents from the regions insist otherwise, asserting that this issue extends not only to Armavir but also to other regions.
