PHOTO: Unvaccinated Brazilian President Denied Entry to Restaurant in New York, Dined Outside
Leaders of unvaccinated countries attending this week’s UN General Assembly may be compelled to satisfy themselves with fast food stands on the sidewalks instead of enjoying fine dining in New York City’s restaurants, Reuters reports.
Such was the case for Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro. No one is allowed to enter restaurants in the city without proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Bolsonaro has expressed skepticism about vaccines and has repeatedly boasted that he is unvaccinated against COVID-19. Before heading to New York, he stated that his immune system is "strong enough to withstand the coronavirus." His delegation’s cabinet members posted a photo on the streets of New York on the evening of September 19, featuring Bolsonaro and his aides enjoying pizza.
