Kremlin on Erdoğan's Statements

The Kremlin has responded to the statement made by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan from the UN podium, in which he recognized Ukraine's territorial integrity.

“We completely disagree with Ankara’s expressed viewpoint regarding Crimea, but we will continue to work with the Turkish side,” stated Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

According to the Russian presidential spokesman, “We regret that these statements are now being made, at a time when preparations are underway for [Turkey’s] president’s visit to the Russian Federation. We would prefer to focus on further developing bilateral relations and addressing the many pressing regional issues between the two countries.”
