Avinyan in the Crosshairs of Pashinyan: 'Hraparak'

The newspaper 'Hraparak' reports that after the June 20 elections, Nikol Pashinyan has isolated himself from his team, rarely organizing large gatherings and primarily interacting with Deputy Prime Minister Suren Papikyan. Meanwhile, the factions formed within the ruling team are solidifying, and the existing conflicts among them have deepened to the point of mutual animosity.

Pashinyan, in turn, has begun to identify sacrificial targets, understanding that raising ratings through the ritual sacrifices of former officials is no longer viable. According to our sources within the government, former Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan is now targeted by Pashinyan, with plans to undermine and neutralize him, potentially through loud revelations.

Notably, Avinyan has expressed a desire to run in the Yerevan mayoral elections, and it is plausible that he may begin his separate play by establishing his own party and submitting candidacy. However, this position has been promised to Khachatur Sukiasyan, who is unlikely to allow Avinyan, known for his own distinct profile, to contend for such a high office. The second potential candidate, Hayk Marutyan, is also unlikely to emerge.
