Arush Arushanyan Issues a Statement

Goris community mayor Arush Arushanyan has issued a statement. 

“Dear compatriots, dear residents of Goris,

With great responsibility and determination, I want to inform you that I am submitting my candidacy for the upcoming local government elections as a candidate for the position of the head of the Goris consolidated community. Although I am currently in detention, I am confident that justice will soon be restored, along with the support of my principled compatriots, as we have traveled our honest path in front of everyone.

I am running for the elections with the Arush Arushanyan alliance created by myself and my teammates, which is based on the principles of justice and freedom, national interests, and the establishment of inter-ethnic solidarity. This will enable us to establish sustainable peace and cooperation within the community, creating real conditions and prospects for the development of Goris.

To realize these prospects, I possess sufficient will and determination, diligence, and a high sense of responsibility and dedication to serve our homeland. I am going to the elections because I cannot leave my undertakings unfinished, despite all the obstacles created and the injustices directed against me, as my work is just, my interests are entirely pro-state, and my ideology is national.

All these artificial difficulties are insignificant compared to the great mission for which I received your unanimous trust back in 2017, namely, the development of the Goris community and the establishment of the well-being of its population.

Let my work and the implemented projects speak for me today—projects brought to life over these past four years, thanks to the selfless dedication of me and my team, of course receiving your daily support and assistance in the sacred work we carried out to realize our dream of Goris.

I believe you already know that I do not like to speak at length. I am sure you have noticed that the foundation of my principles is not empty promises and flattering words, but real deeds and the creation of lasting values that we must proudly pass on to our generations.

The position of the community leader is nothing more than a selfless service to God, the homeland, and the people, which I have fulfilled and am ready to fulfill with great honor, responsibility, and the high dignity characteristic of being from Goris.”
