Our Cars Pass the Goris-Kapan Road Accompanied by Border Guards and NSS: Goris Deputy Mayor
Currently, the situation on the Goris-Kapan road is calm, but Armenian cars are passing through the section near Vorotani accompanied by Russian border guards and the National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia.
This was reported to Factinfo by the Deputy Mayor of Goris, Karen Kocharyan: "Armenian cars are waiting, gathering in one place, and then passing through that section under the escort of Russian peacekeepers and our NSS, to prevent any new incidents, safety is a good thing," said the Deputy Mayor of Goris.
According to him, the congestion of Iranian trucks on the Goris-Kapan road has significantly decreased, but he is unaware whether Azerbaijanis continue to demand money from Iranian drivers or not.
It should be noted that the Azerbaijanis have set up a checkpoint in the Vorotani area of the Goris-Kapan road, where they stop Iranian trucks, check their documents, demand money from Iranian drivers, and only then allow them to pass through that section. The latter have started to use alternative routes via Tatev.
Azerbaijanis are also engaging in reckless actions against Armenian drivers traveling on the road, hitting their vehicles and the drivers.
