Police Clarification on Arresting Turks in Front of 'World of Gold'
The Police of the Republic of Armenia has denied reports that two Turks were apprehended in front of the 'World of Gold'. This information comes from the press office of the police.
It should be noted that there were circulating media reports claiming that two Turks were detained in Yerevan for waving the Turkish flag.
According to the police statement, 'On September 19 at 18:07, a citizen called the police and reported that three suspicious individuals had been caught near one of the gold markets in the capital, and they suspected they were spies for Azerbaijan. Minutes later, in order to clarify their identities, the police apprehended the three individuals. It turned out that they were tourists from the Islamic Republic of Iran.'
After investigations were conducted, the apprehended individuals were released. The police urge everyone not to publish unverified information.
