Pashinyan Proposes to Reformulate the Term 'Post-War Reconstruction'

The Prime Minister of Armenia declared that the business conference marks the beginning of transforming the era of regional peace into practical steps.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan delivered a welcoming speech to the participants of the business conference held in Armenia. “Today’s event is a vivid expression of the fact that the Armenian community in Russia and the Armenian business in Russia have stood firmly and continue to stand firmly by the side of Armenia’s statehood, alongside the Republic of Armenia,” said Pashinyan, expressing confidence that the business conference will become a traditional event and will henceforth take place annually.

Speaking about the extraordinary parliamentary elections held in Armenia, Pashinyan emphasized that as a result, the citizens of the Republic of Armenia have given their mandate for peaceful development. However, he noted that there are still forces attempting to create the opposite impression that peaceful development in Armenia is not possible.

“The government of the Republic of Armenia, clearly aware of the complex challenges it faces, will be consistent in leading Armenia on this path,” he remarked.

Pashinyan identified the unblocking of regional communications, the demarcation and delimitation of borders as key instruments for establishing peace, as outlined in the trilateral statements of November 9, 2020, and January 11, 2021.

He declared that the term "post-war reconstruction period" should henceforth be reformulated as the “beginning of an era of rapid development for Armenia and the region.”

“To implement this program, we need the support of all present, the support of our businesspeople from the diaspora, and the support of our international partners and allies,” Pashinyan concluded. He proclaimed the business conference as the starting point for transforming this attitude into practical steps.
