Missing in Vorotan are 20-21 Year Olds
Two residents, aged 20-21, from Kasakh, have gone missing in an area under Azerbaijani control along the Goris-Vorotan road. Ara Mkrtchyan, the mayor of Kasakh, stated in an interview with NEWS.am.
"According to my information, the young men went to visit their fellow servicemen. The last contact with their family members was at the moment they disappeared. One of the boys was on the phone and said, 'They stopped us, let's see what they say', after which the connection was lost. We have not heard any news from them since," said the mayor.
According to Mkrtchyan, the youth were relatives, being the grandsons of an uncle. The mayor noted that there were two individuals from their village in the vehicle, but heard that there might have been others as well, though he does not have precise information.
Earlier, the RA National Security Service reported that on September 18, around 21:00, information was received indicating that two residents from the Kasakh community in the Kotayk region of Armenia had deviated from the main road and ended up in a territory under Azerbaijani control while traveling along the Goris-Vorotan road. The RA NSS and Russian Federal Security Service border guards are conducting relevant operations to locate them.
