Video: The Fire at Arevik National Park Still Uncontrollable

On September 18, firefighting efforts resumed at Arevik National Park, with 86 rescue workers and 12 employees from the Zangezur Biosphere Complex State Non-Commercial Organization involved. This information has been provided by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Recall that on September 15, at 1:34 PM, the Syunik provincial crisis management center received information about smoke in the territory of Arevik National Park.

Operational groups from the regional rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the firefighting rescue unit headed to the site. Due to darkness and difficult road conditions, the progress was temporarily halted; 5 employees of Arevik National Park maintained duty on site.

On September 16, at 7:25 AM, an operational group from the regional rescue department and one firefighting unit moved to the territory of Arevik National Park. It was found that approximately 60 hectares of vegetation had burned in the area. As of 11:00 AM, about 10-12 hectares of vegetation were still ablaze.

Twenty employees of Arevik National Park and 23 servicemen from military unit N are also participating in the firefighting efforts. Operations were temporarily halted due to darkness, and monitoring was established.

On September 17, in order to resume firefighting operations, 32 rescue workers, 25 employees from the Zangezur Biosphere Complex, and 10 employees from Meghri Construction LLC headed to the territory of Arevik National Park. Additionally, 30 rescuers from the special rescue operations center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and 24 rescue workers from the Vayots Dzor regional rescue department are participating in the firefighting efforts. Approximately 100 hectares of vegetation have burned.

Firefighting operations have been temporarily suspended due to darkness.
