Protests Against Coronavirus Restrictions and Mandatory Vaccinations in Sydney and Melbourne
The Australian police have arrested more than 260 people during protests against coronavirus restrictions and mandatory vaccinations in Sydney and Melbourne, reports Daily Mail. In particular, protesters marching through the central streets of Melbourne threw bottles filled with water and stones at police officers.
In response, law enforcement utilized pepper spray, resulting in 10 officers being injured, with 6 hospitalized. Approximately a thousand people flooded the streets of Melbourne. The city has been under lockdown for 228 days since March 2020.
Overall, around two thousand police participated in the operations.
