Expired Moderna Vaccine Administered to Residents in Germany, Reports Bild
Residents in Germany have received expired doses of the Moderna vaccine, according to Bild. A total of 840 individuals received the injection.
Preliminary reports indicate that the cause was incorrect labeling on the medication's packaging. The stated shelf life was three months longer than the allowable sanitary standards—30 days instead.
At the same time, local doctors have stated that they see no cause for concern, as the vaccine's storage conditions were not violated; it was "constantly kept in the refrigerator." Additionally, a spokesperson from the vaccination center assured that there is no information suggesting that extended storage affects the efficacy of the medication.
