Batumi Has Always Played a Major Role in the Armenian-Turkish Shadow Play

Batumi has always played a significant role in the Armenian-Turkish public and political shadow play, as noted by political analyst Alen Ghevondyan.

“It is said that even there, specific representatives of our elite took an oath of peace and loyalty to the Turks in the mid to late 2000s. I say it would be better for law enforcement in Armenia to focus on their primary duties rather than organizing secret visits for private conversations at Yerevan State University. There is a generation from the 80s that finds such actions amusing and, regardless of the circumstances, 'those born to fly will not crawl'.” Ghevondyan wrote.

It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's official visit to Georgia concluded with an informal meeting in Batumi with the Georgian Prime Minister on September 9.
