The Newspaper Founded by Pashinyan Ceases Publication

The newspaper "Haykakan Jamanak," founded by Nikol Pashinyan and owned by his family, is no longer being printed. Instead, the online version, "Armtimes.com," will continue operations. This was reported by the publication Hraparak.

During a conversation with Armtimes.com journalist Anyuta Atanesyan, she stated that the newspaper has not been printed since September. When asked why it is not being printed, Atanesyan mentioned that the reasons are technical, and it remains unclear when the newspaper will resume printing, or if it will be restored at all.

It is noteworthy that after the closure of the newspaper "Oragir" in 1999, Nikol Pashinyan worked to restore the printing of "Haykakan Jamanak." Until March 1, 2008, Nikol Pashinyan was the acting editor-in-chief of the newspaper. From 2008 to 2011, Anna Hakobyan fulfilled the responsibilities of editor-in-chief. After being elected as a member of parliament in 2012, Pashinyan resigned from his position as editor-in-chief of "Haykakan Jamanak." Additionally, it should be mentioned that one of the shareholders, Petros Makeyan, had put his 10% share for sale because he did not want to deal with Nikol Pashinyan. Furthermore, according to our information, almost the entire journalistic staff of HJ has moved to Public Television. Perhaps the absence of journalists is also a reason for the newspaper's closure.
