Major Car Accident in Kanaker: Opel Astra and Volkswagen Passat Collide, the Latter Crashes Into a Tree, Injuries Reported

Today, on September 17, a major car accident occurred in Yerevan. Around 08:05, in the Kanaker-Zeytun administrative district, on Hasratyan Street, Opel Astra and Volkswagen Passat collided under unclear circumstances. According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, as a result of the collision, the Volkswagen veered off the road and crashed into a tree.

Emergency services promptly arrived at the scene, with two fire crews from the Yerevan Fire and Rescue Service's 5th unit. The firefighters disconnected the vehicles' batteries and shut off the gas tank valves.

Two individuals were transferred to Izmirlian Medical Center due to injuries, with citizens providing the first assistance.

In connection with the incident, materials are being prepared by V. Baghdasaryan. The police are working to establish the identities of the drivers and the injured.
