US to Recognize Turkish 'Gray Wolves' Group as Terrorist Organization: Proposed Legislation

US Representative Dina Titus, a member of the Democratic Party, has proposed an amendment to the 2022 National Defense Authorization Act, which would recognize the Turkish extremist group 'Gray Wolves' as a terrorist organization and prohibit its activities. This was reported by Ermenihaber.am.

The proposed legislation also calls for an end to military assistance to Azerbaijan. It emphasizes the immediate return of Armenian prisoners of war by the Azerbaijani authorities. Additionally, it is deemed necessary to investigate whether Turkish strike drones utilized American technology during the 44-day war in Artsakh.

It should be noted that the Council of Europe has included the 'Gray Wolves' movement in its list of terrorist organizations. Furthermore, activities of the 'Gray Wolves' have been officially banned in France since November 4, 2020. The French Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, published a decree prohibiting the group's activities. In the decree signed by President Macron, it is stated that the 'Gray Wolves' propagate discrimination and hatred, and engage in violent actions.
