Shooting in Yerevan: 32-Year-Old Wounded Transferred to Hospital

On September 15, an extraordinary incident took place in Yerevan. Around 15:40, the Erebuni Medical Center alerted the Erebuni Police Department that a citizen had been admitted with a "gunshot wound to the left side of the chest." According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, Erebuni Police Chief Armen Gasparyan, Head of the Criminal Police Division Arsen Avoyan, and Deputy Head of the Erebuni and Nubaraashen Investigation Department of Armenia’s Investigative Committee, Alexander, rushed to the hospital.

The police and investigators determined that the wounded individual was 32-year-old Gevorg Khachatryan, a resident of Yerevan. According to doctors, he was unable to explain what happened at that time due to being in the operating room. On the same day, at 17:40, 43-year-old Manvel Melikyan, a resident of Yerevan, voluntarily presented himself to the Erebuni Police Department, stating that around 15:00, in the cabin of his Lexus vehicle (license plate 050 SO 05), which he operated, G. Khachatryan, who is his friend, accidentally shot himself with a pen-gun he had in his possession, causing bodily harm.
