Serzh Sargsyan Against Khachatur Sukiasyan: The Case is in Court

The Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction, presided over by Judge Sergey Sahakyan, has accepted the lawsuit filed by Armenia's third President Serzh Sargsyan against the businessman known as "Grzo," and a member of parliament from the ruling party, Khachatur Sukiasyan.

It is recalled that a lawsuit has been submitted to the court against Khachatur Sukiasyan, demanding the refutation of information that tarnishes the honor and reputation of Armenia's third president. The basis for the lawsuit is a statement made by Sukiasyan on August 25 near the National Assembly podium, claiming that “the third president has squandered more than 100 million dollars in casinos.”

Besides Khachatur Sukiasyan, the Republic of Armenia is also a party to the case, represented by the staff of the National Assembly. The lawsuit was registered in court on September 6 and was assigned to Judge Sergey Sahakyan on the same day. On September 15, the court decided to accept the lawsuit for consideration.

Currently, there is no information available regarding the scheduling of the court hearing.
