Peskov on Putin's Self-Isolation

President of Russia Vladimir Putin, who has entered into self-isolation, is undergoing necessary tests, said Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian president.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin mentioned during a conversation with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon that due to the discovered cases of coronavirus in his circle, he must maintain a self-isolation regime.

“They are undergoing necessary tests. Specialists, doctors are doing everything that is required in this situation,” Peskov told reporters.

In response to the question of whether Putin uses the 'Social Monitoring' program during self-isolation, he stated that the president does not utilize it.

“We have talked about this many times. Of course, the working regime of the head of state, and the regime of ensuring his security does not provide for such an opportunity and, most importantly - there is no need to participate in such programs,” added Peskov.

Self-isolation does not change anything in the work of Russian President Vladimir Putin. “This (self-isolation) in no way leads to a narrowing of his circle of communications and a slowdown in the pace of his working schedule. Essentially, it does not change anything,” Peskov told reporters.
