Soldier Injured in Hand and Leg, Ministry of Defense Confirms

On September 13, around 22:00, one soldier was killed and another injured due to an incident at a combat post located in the southeastern direction of Armenia. This information was confirmed in a conversation with Lurer.com by the Armenian Ministry of Defense.

The Ministry further added that the health condition of the injured soldier is normal. “The soldier has been injured in the hand and leg, and his life is not in danger,” the Ministry stated.

Earlier, the Ministry announced that preliminary reports indicated a fatal gunshot wound was received by reserve sergeant Mkrtich Seriozha Hovakimyan, born in 1978, due to violations of the rules of organized military service.

According to information circulated in the media, the cause of the incident appears to have been interpersonal relations, which led to each party firing at the other.
